October Underpass: Drag Ball Edition!

Hello, everyone! In case you haven’t heard through facebook or a poster already, this Saturday, at 8pm, a special edition of The Underpass unfolds at Red Star, right before the Delta Mouth Drag Ball!

The fun begins at 5pm on the capitol steps, where Louisiana Book Festival-goers will crawl to to Boudreaux & Thibodeaux’s where the Unofficial After Party kicks off, featuring readers from Baton Rouge and New Orleans, as well as a screening of selections from Zach Godshall’s Lord Byron! (Free admission.)

THEN, it’s time for the Underpass, just a few blocks away at Red Star! 2nd Year MFA candidates Aimee Davis, Alison Grifa, and Maia Elgin will be joined by special guest Anne Marie Rooney of New Orleans. Ladies night! (Or fellas night?)

Since this Underpass helping to fundraise for Delta Mouth Literary Festival, Louisiana’s biggest free literary festival, attendees will be charged $5 at the door if they’re in drag (and $7 if they’re in normative dress). But you get more than a reading–you get live music, DJs all night, and eleganza extravaganza as far as the eye can see! See you there/there/there?
